This is designed as an introduction to Food Chains for younger KS2 pupils. Pupils are introduced to the terms 'Producer' and &'Consumer&';. Using 'Food For&' arrows, pupils work interactively through a series of food chains, identifying the correct order. Ecosystems covered are British countryside, tropical rainforest, lake/river and seashore

The resource is designed to build on KS1 work by developing understanding of the key concepts related to sources of sound and how sound travels to the ear. The first section looks at different sources of sound and a short video is available as stiumulus for the start of a lesson. The second session looks at how the vibrations travel out and away from the source of the sound. The third section check the pupils understanding through simple interactive activities.

This resource is split into two parts. One part deals with pitch and the other with the loudness of sound. Through animations and interactive activities pupils learn: 1. that loud and quiet sounds are produced by big or small vibrations. 2. that high or low pitched notes are produced by fast or slow vibrations. There are printable sheets for follow up investigations.

The resources contain ACTIVstudio2 flipcharts for use with Promethean Whiteboards and also PowerPoint presentations. These are contained within the relevant files. The resources support a study on the properties of materials and food. A brief summary of the resources are outlined below. The MatchFood and MatchMaterials flipcharts highlight the differences between foods and materials respectively as well as providing simple classification exercises. The quizzes flipcharts aim to stimulate further investigations through asking pupils questions of the nature ‘what will happen next?’

Six flipchart lessons covering cross curricular work in science (keys) and IT (branching databases). The materials cover comparing and contrasting online keys (or databases) based on tree identification. The children are then shown how to make a multimedia branching keys using PowerPoint. Contains worksheets, and photo packs.

This interactive activity allows pupils to investigate simple circuits by dragging circuit components into place to make a working circuit. The activities form an introduction to practical work exploring circuits. Pupils have the opportunity to experiment with switches to control components in order to find out that a circuit will not work if there is a break in it.
